Original lithograph card with a color illustration on front of two girls wrapped in a blue veil and a gilt-bordered vignette showing a small wintry landscape. The landscape shows barren trees and a creek running under a double-arched bridge. Decorative color illustration of flowers (some of which are done in gilt) behind vignette. Purple border decoration accented in gilt. No date, circa 1890s-1910s. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2." Card is very clean and intact except for slight age toning, offsetting on back from another litho card, and slightly bumped corners. A Fine copy. This card bears some resemblance to trade cards, which are antique business cards and the predecessors of modern trading cards. Trade cards were most common during the late nineteenth century..
